Batu Khan (in tataro Бату хан; 1205 – Saraj, 1256) è stato un condottiero mongolo, figlio di Jöchi, nipote di Gengis Khan e fondatore del khanato dell'Orda d'Oro (khanato Kipchak) nella Russia meridionale nel XIII secolo.
Batu Khan (c. 1205 –1255) [note 1] was a Mongol ruler and founder of the Golden Horde, a constituent of the Mongol Empire established after Genghis Khan's demise. Batu was a son of Jochi, thus a grandson of Genghis Khan. His ulus ruled over the Kievan Rus', Volga Bulgaria, Cumania, and the Caucasus for around 250 years.
Batu (died c. 1255, Russia) was the grandson of Genghis Khan and founder of the Khanate of Kipchak, or the Golden Horde. In 1235 Batu was elected commander in chief of the western part of the Mongol empire and was given responsibility for the invasion of Europe.
