Tarja Kaarina Halonen (pronounced [ˈtɑrjɑ ˈkɑːrinɑ ˈhɑlonen] ⓘ; born 24 December 1943) is a Finnish politician who served as the 11th president of Finland, and the first and to date only woman to hold the position, from 2000 to 2012.

Tarja Halonen is the 11th President of the Republic of Finland and Finland's first female head of state. She acceded office on 1 of March 2000, and was re-elected 2006. Tarja Halonen was born in Helsinki at the Christmas Eve in 1943.
