The Grand Ducal Burial Vault (Russian: Великокняжеская усыпальница) is the purpose-built mausoleum of the Grand Dukes and Duchesses of Russia in the Peter and Paul Fortress. The Neo-Baroque domed structure is frequently mistaken for a part of the Peter and Paul Cathedral due to architectural similarities.

The traditional burial site of the Grand Ducal Family of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach is the Weimarer Fürstengruft (link in German) in the Historical Cemetery in Weimar. After the establishment of the cemetery in 1818, Grand Duke Karl August commissioned the construction of the Grand Ducal Vault, which was built between 1823 and 1828.
The Ducal Vault – a masterpiece of Classical period architecture in Thuringia – was built at the behest of Grand Duke Carl August between 1823 and 1828 on the grounds of the Historic Cemetery, established in 1818. Its architect was Clemens Wenzeslaus Coudray.
