House of Holstein-Gottorp-Romanov — the Holstein-Gottorp-Romanov were a line of the House of Oldenburg with female-line descent from the House of Romanov. The male-line descendants of the Romanov eventually died out. This line succeeded them and ruled Imperial Russia from 1762 to 1917.
