Die Hansestadt Uelzen ( niederdeutsch Ülz’n) [ ˈʏltsən] [2] ist die Kreisstadt des gleichnamigen Landkreises im Nordosten Niedersachsens und Teil der Metropolregion Hamburg . In der Stadtrechtsurkunde von 1270 trägt Uelzen zunächst den Namen Löwenwalde.
