Cynthia Ellinor Beatrix Spencer, Countess Spencer DCVO OBE (née Hamilton; 16 August 1897 – 4 December 1972) was a British peeress and the paternal grandmother of Diana, Princess of Wales.
Albert Edward John Spencer, 7th Earl Spencer, TD, FSA, FRSA (23 May 1892 – 9 June 1975), styled The Honourable Albert Spencer until 1910 and Viscount Althorp from 1910 to 1922, and known less formally as Jack Spencer, was a British peer. He was the paternal grandfather of Diana, Princess of Wales.
Albert Spencer sposò Lady Cynthia Hamilton, seconda figlia di James Hamilton, III duca di Abercorn, nel 1919 e la coppia ebbe due figli.
On 26 February 1919 he married Lady Cynthia Hamilton, daughter of the 3rd Duke of Abercorn. The couple had two children. Their son Edward John (Viscount Althorp and 8th Earl) had five children, the youngest of whom, Diana Frances [1961-1997], became the Princess of Wales upon her marriage to Charles, son of H.R.H. Queen Elizabeth.
