Kiel (German: ⓘ) is the capital and most populous city in the northern German state of Schleswig-Holstein, with a population of 246,243 (2021). Kiel lies approximately 90 kilometres (56 mi) north of Hamburg, and about the same distance south of the Danish border.

Kiel è un porto donde ci si imbarca per diverse destinazioni sia nei paesi scandinavi che baltici. I moli donde partono i mega-traghetti risultano, d'estate, estremamente affollati. La città ha comunque un'aria piacevole.
