The House System. All students belong to one of six Senior Houses or two Junior Houses and can be either day pupils or boarders. We seek to provide a structure in which all of our students can be educated as individuals, not as one of the herd. The House is a primary focus in all this.
Haberdashers' is located on the grounds of Aldenham House, a stately home, which became the boarding house in 1961, with accommodation for 80 main school pupils, three staff, and their spouses. The Headmaster and his secretary have offices on the ground floor.
To the west of the churchyard stands Church Farm House (16th – 18th century) and to the east the old vicarage (now two dwellings), a fine example of early 18th century red brick architecture. The parish of Aldenham also has three public schools: Aldenham School, Haberdashers' Boys' School and Haberdashers' Girls' School.
Founded in 1597 by Richard Platt, proprietor of the Old Swan Brewery in the Parish of Garlickhithe in the City of London, Aldenham School boasts a mixture of tradition coupled with a sense of history.
