Anne of Denmark (Danish: Anna; 12 December 1574 – 2 March 1619) was the wife of King James VI and I. She was Queen of Scotland from their marriage on 20 August 1589 and Queen of England and Ireland from the union of the Scottish and English crowns on 24 March 1603 until her death in 1619.

Anne of Denmark (1574–1619) was the wife of James VI and I, and queen consort of Scotland from 1589, and queen consort of England and Ireland from the union of the Scottish and English crowns in 1603 until her death on 2 March 1619 at Hampton Court. [1] She was buried at Westminster Abbey on 13 May.

Anne of Denmark (12 December 1574 – 2 March 1619) was queen consort of Scotland, England, and Ireland. She was the wife of King James VI and I. Anne, the second daughter of King Frederick II of Denmark, married James in 1589 when she was 15 years old.
Anne was the second daughter of Frederick II, King of Denmark and Norway. Her father had failed to re-establish the Kalmar Union with Sweden , but despite that setback, Denmark’s influence in Europe was growing as northern Germany and Scandinavia became bulwarks of Protestantism.
Anne of Denmark was born on 12 December 1574 at Skanderborg Castle, Denmark, and died on 2 March 1619 at Hampton Court Palace, Middlesex, England. She was the wife of King James VI and I and served as Queen of Scotland from 20 August 1589 and as Queen of England and Ireland from 24 March 1603 until her death.
