Sir Anthony James Allan Havelock-Allan, 4th Baronet (28 February 1904 – 11 January 2003) was a British film producer and screenwriter whose credits included This Happy Breed, Blithe Spirit, Great Expectations, Oliver Twist, the 1968 version of Romeo and Juliet and Ryan's Daughter.
The script is based on a slimmed-down version of Dickens' novel. It was written by David Lean, Anthony Havelock-Allan, Cecil McGivern, Ronald Neame and Kay Walsh, after Lean had seen an abridged 1939 stage version of the novel, written by Alec Guinness.

20 giu 1990 · BIOGRAPHY: Anthony Havelock-Allan was a major figure in the post-war blooming of British cinema. Both into a predominantly military family, his career in the entertainment industry began at a German gramophone company and subsequently as a manager at a cabaret club.
