Tatoi (Greek: Τατόι, pronounced) was the summer palace and 42 km 2 (10,000 acres) estate of the former Greek royal family. The area is a densely wooded southeast-facing slope of Mount Parnitha , and its ancient and current official name is Dekeleia .
Tatoi Palace was the summer retreat of the Greek royal family until 1974, when they were forced to flee the country. Now, the estate is a decaying relic of a bygone era, surrounded by pine forests and open to visitors who can wander through the ruins and enjoy the nature.
