Overlord Manga is based on the light novel series. It was a manga adaptation written by Satoshi Ōshio, with art illustrated by Hugin Miyama. It began serialization in Kadokawa Shoten's manga magazine Comp Ace. As of now, nineteen volumes have already been published in Japanese since November 26, 2014.
Currently, was an ongoing manga that was released one chapter per month in Monthly Comp Ace. The manga was also licensed in North America by Yen Press. Eighteen volumes have already been published in English since June 28, 2016.
On September 20, 2023, it was announced that Hugin Miyama would be leaving the manga team. As for the continuity of the series, it had been left uncertain if the manga will resume.
On February 21, 2024, it was announced that a new artist, Matsuki, will be the illustrator for the second part of the manga adaption, Overlord New World which will be serialized on the new webcomic page Comp Ace Comic Connect.

•The term "Episode" is actually used to describe the main chapters of the manga while "Chapter" is used to differentiate the intermissions from the main stories. The Special remains as it is.
•Each manga tankoubon is packed with extra information in the form of intermissions with each focusing on one particular subject that is otherwise not easily obtained for those who do not read the Light Novels though the amount of information isn't as detailed.
•Chapter 6's title is actually "Healing Portion" in the tankoubon, a grammatical mistake.
