António de Almeida Santos GCC, GCIH, GCL (15 February 1926 – 18 January 2016) was a Portuguese lawyer, politician and government minister.

António de Almeida Santos, jurista formado pela Universidade de Coimbra, exerceu advocacia em Lourenço Marques (atual Maputo), de 1953 a 1974, onde foi membro do Grupo dos Democratas de Moçambique.

On 6 August 1919, António José de Almeida was elected the 6th President of the Republic, and was the only President of the First Republic, that completed the full four years mandate. He faced the greatest political instability of the regime and almost resigned.
António de Almeida Santos dedicated his life to social democracy and became a major and familiar figure in the Socialist Party. Between June and November 1985 Santos was interim Secretary General of the PS, and in 1992 he became party president, a role he held until 2011.
