Professional Children's School (PCS) is a not-for-profit, college preparatory school geared toward working and aspiring child actors and dancers in grades six through twelve. The school was founded in New York City in 1914 to provide an academic education to young people working on the New York stage, in Vaudeville , or "on the road".
At Professional Children’s School, students are empowered to invest in their academic studies in concert with their professional and pre-professional pursuits. Students in both the Middle and Upper Schools experience a rigorous, complex curriculum.
The Professional Children’s School was founded in 1914 by two reform-minded New Yorkers, Jane Harris Hall and Jean Greer Robinson. Ardent theatre-goers, the women learned of the plight of the city’s professional children – young people working in the theatre in New York or “on the road.”
Professional Children’s School is an independent day school enrolling up to 150 students in grades 6-12. Founded in 1914, Professional Children’s School provides a challenging and engaging college preparatory program for busy artists, athletes, and other young people who are serious about their studies.
