  1. How to find us. If you are visiting the College as a tourist, please use the entrance on New College Lane. The Visitors' Entrance on New College Lane. Directions to New College Visitors' Entrance from Radcliffe Square.

  2. If you are planning a visit, we do just suggest you call ahead to the Development Office (01865 279509) to check the College is not going to be closed for any reason. On arrival please make yourself known to the Porters at the New College Lane entrance (March to October, 11am to 5pm) or at the Holywell Street Lodge at other times.

  5. New is special. It was built within the medieval city wall in 1379 by William of Wykeham and is one of Oxford's loveliest and oldest colleges. The gardens are embraced by the perimeter of the old city wall while the Old Quad became a model for later colleges.
