Freguesia (de freguês adicionado do sufixo -ia, por sua vez derivado da expressão latina filium ecclesiae, "filho da igreja" [1]) é a menor divisão administrativa em Portugal, no antigo Império Português e no Império do Brasil, semelhante à paróquia civil dos outros países.
