Lysimachia (Greek: Λυσιμάχεια) was an important Hellenistic Greek town on the north-western extremity of the Thracian Chersonese (the modern Gallipoli peninsula) in the neck where the peninsula joins the mainland in what is now the European part of Turkey, not far from the bay of Melas (the modern Gulf of Saros).

Lisimachia fu fondata nel 309 a.C. da Lisimaco, a quel tempo satrapo di Tracia, il quale distrusse le città di Cardia e Pactye per far spazio al nuovo insediamento; [3] la città diventò un importante baluardo contro le invasioni di galli e traci, ma, già nel 287 a.C. fu devastata a seguito di un terremoto. Descrizione. Le specie di Lysimachia producono fiori di colore dal bianco al rosa, dal giallo all'arancio. Hanno una crescita vigorosa, prediligono terreni umidi e ombreggiati. Tassonomia.
