This annual event offers an exclusive insight into life and learning at Belgium's only military university, where future leaders of Defence are formed.
1834. Staff officers are trained at the Military Academy upon completing their general training. 1991. The IRSD moves to the former Cadets School in the Saint Anne barracks in Laeken, completely renovated for that purpose. 1869. (12 november) By Royal Decree, the War College is established as an independant institution.
The Royal Military Academy had been established in 1834, to be followed by the Ecole d'Application for technical training, and the Ecole de Guerre for staff training in 1868.
