  5. After a time in Anjou, Matilda, who had remained a virgin, took the advice of Geoffrey, Bishop of Chartres, and took her vows as a nun at Fontevrault Abbey. This happened in 1128, when she was seventeen years old. She became the abbess of that abbey in 1150, and died in 1154.
