Military Cemetery at Sackets Harbor Military Cemetery at Sackets Harbor or Military Cemetery is located south of the barracks at Dodge Avenue and Spencer Drive since 1909. It is the resting place for Zebulon Pike .
American military officer and explorer Zebulon Pike was buried in Sackets Harbor after his death in combat at the Battle of York in 1813. His remains were interred with honors at the military cemetery on Dodge Avenue. A namesake warship, USS General Pike, was built and launched at Sackets Harbor before the end of that year.
The iron fence, which once belonged to the Buckingham Palace, was taken to Madison Barracks and placed around the military cemetery. Today, the military cemetery located on Dodge Avenue, is the home of this historic fence. The post was expanded between 1892 and 1895 to its present day 115 acres.

Madison Barracks (1815-1947) - First established in 1815 as Fort Pike during the War of 1812 in present day Sackets Harbor, Jefferson County, New York. Remamed Madison Barracks after President James Madison. Declared surplus in 1945 and abandoned in 1947.
