She is the mother of Margaret Beaufort – to the maternal grandmother of Henry VII. She was born in about 1410, the daughter of Sir John Beauchamp of Bletsoe in Bedfordshire. In 1421 her brother John died and she became an heiress.
Margaret Beauchamp, born circa 1410, was the daughter of Sir John Beauchamp of Bletsoe, Bedfordshire, and his second wife, Edith Stourton. She inherited substantial estates after the death of her only brother, John Beauchamp, and through him, potentially held a claim to the barony of Beauchamp.
