17 mar 2021 · Italy is gone. Hopefully I get enough war contribution to secure a good position against SU or Allies later on. As Portugal it was better to destroy Allies first (after Axis) and Comintern last. As Bulgaria it might be better to crush SU first and Allies after because the naval buildup is gonna be much slower than with Portugal.
7 ago 2020 · Bulgaria will join IIRC as soon as you fire 2nd Vienna. Bulgaria can help with Greece and Yugoslavia and can be used as garrisons in the Balkans. Romania will join you as soon as Russia fires Bessarabia. They are definitely useful in Russia. I don't bother wasting time invading and puppeting them.
15 ott 2020 · I joined the Allies and formed Greater Greece. As a member of the Allies, I am at war with Germany and Italy etc. Bulgaria is in the Axis, but has not joined the war. Then out of the blue (presumably by the Bulgarian focus tree or some event) Central Macedonia is transferred to Bulgaria without any warning or event visible to me.
21 mar 2021 · I stumbled across the below guide recently, and was able to get the Bulgaria "Prussia of the Balkans" and "Balkan Problem Solved" achievements yesterday. I recommend it to anyone who's been frustrated by these achievements (like I was). The strategy is mostly idiot-proof, and unlike many Bulgaria guides, has a minimal reliance on RNG events.
6 feb 2022 · I also recommend releasing Bulgaria and enacting "strong duchies" and then breaking your alliance with The Knights to get under your relations limit. Alternatively, if the war drags past 1454, you can enact strong duchies and then immediately integrate Athens (be sure to improve relations with them during the war).

14 feb 2021 · Bulgaria occupied and annexed Macedonia. Italy/Albania occupied Kosovo. It is historical. Bulgaria auto annexing all of Thrace and Greek Macedonia, not so much. The Axis and Balkans would benefit from more dynamic and fluid Axis occupation. I.e if Bulgaria do nothing Italy or axis Greece can claim back Bulgarian occupied lands.
4 apr 2013 · Bulgaria had strong historical ties to Russia. Nothing prevents either the Comintern or the Allies for trying for a coup and getting Bulgaria into their camp, other the very questionable benefit of having Bulgaria on your side. Bulgaria is coded to actively align with the Axis as soon as she gets Cavarna province 4058 thru event 2401.
I've been playing some dry runs of a Romanian game where I wanna' go down the Balkan Dominance tree. So far, my strategy has been to focus on economic focuses while I build up my army (I figure I need 55 divisions of int/art with Recon, Engineers, Arty and AT to unlock the relevant national focuses concerning Hungary and Bulgaria).
