Filippo Grandi (born March 30, 1957) is an Italian diplomat and United Nations official, currently serving as United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
Il 1 gennaio 2016 Filippo Grandi è diventato l’undicesimo Alto Commissario delle Nazioni Unite per i Rifugiati. E’ il primo italiano a ricoprire questo ruolo Filippo Grandi è stato eletto dall’Assemblea Generale delle Nazioni Unite con un mandato di cinque anni, fino al 31 dicembre 2020.
Filippo Grandi is the 11th United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. He was first elected by the UN General Assembly on 1 January 2016 for a five-year term. The General Assembly has since twice re-elected him to serve, and he will now complete his term on 31 December 2025.
