Gersau. Gersau was the smallest republic in the world, but today it is an idyllic tourist destination on Lake Lucerne. Thanks to its mild climate, it is lovingly called the "Riviera of Central Switzerland". From here you can take a day trip to the lake or Mount Rigi.

Description. The resort of Gersau in the canton of Schwyz is a self-contained area in a hollow on the sunny, sheltered southern slopes of the Rigi. Until the 19th century, Gersau could only be reached by water or over the Gätterli Pass from Lauerz.
Gersau era la più piccola repubblica del mondo, ma oggi è una destinazione turistica idilliaca sul Lago dei Quattro Cantoni. Grazie al suo clima mite è chiamata amorevolmente la "Riviera della Svizzera centrale". Da qui è possibile fare una gita di un giorno sul lago o sul monte Rigi. Ma anche a Gersau ci sono molti luoghi incantevoli da visitare.
