Ėl'dar Aleksandrovič Rjazanov (in russo Эльда́р Алекса́ндрович Ряза́нов?; Samara, 18 novembre 1927 – Mosca, 30 novembre 2015) è stato un regista, attore e poeta sovietico, dal 1991 russo, Artista del popolo dell' Unione Sovietica nel 1984.

Il regista Ėl’dar Rjazanov voleva invece girare una satira realista con un Ogurcov grottesco e temibile: per la parte aveva in mente l’attore drammatico Pëtr Konstantinov. Ma l’ultima parola sul film spettava al direttore del Mosfil’m Ivan Pyr’ev, anima del progetto.

Director Ėl’dar Rjazanov wanted to shoot a realist satire with a grotesque and fearsome Ogurcov and had the dramatic actor Pëtr Konstantinov in mind for the part. The last word on the film, however, belonged to Ivan Pyr’ev, the Director of Mosfil’m and the project’s driving force.
