Elisabetta da Barbara. Sigismondo di Lussemburgo ( Norimberga, 15 febbraio 1368 – Znojmo, 9 dicembre 1437) è stato Principe elettore di Brandeburgo ( 1378 - 1388, 1411 - 1415 ), re d'Ungheria dal 1387, re di Croazia, re dei Romani dal 1410, re di Boemia dal 1419 e Imperatore del Sacro Romano Impero dal 1433 alla sua morte.

Saint Barbara is a small 1437 drawing (41.2 × 27.5 cm) on oak panel, signed and dated 1437 by the Netherlandish artist Jan van Eyck. It is unknown if the work is a chalk ground study in pencil for a planned oil painting, an unfinished underdrawing or a completed work in of itself, [1] although the latter is deemed more likely.

In 1427 he was appointed steward of Clare in Suffolk and Thaxted in Essex, during the minority of Richard of York, 3rd Duke of York, and chief steward of the Duchy of Lancaster north of Trent. [1] He was a member of King Henry VI's council in France in 1431. [citation needed]
