DAS Theatre is a master’s programme for research-based artistic and curatorial practices in the field of theatre that is open to Dutch and international practitioners working in the performing arts as artists, curators, directors, performance makers and dramaturgs.
The Academy of Theatre and Dance is a faculty of the Amsterdam University of the Arts which was known as de Theaterschool until September 2016. It runs four year Bachelor's degree courses in theatre and dance, and two year Master's degree courses offered by DAS Graduate School.
Develop your unique talent in this highly diverse programme exploring social, urban and non-western dances and their relation to European and American theatre dance traditions. We challenge you to contribute to shaping the future of dance!
The courses are given in alluring locations in Amsterdam, the cultural centre of the Netherlands. The AHK offers courses at bachelor and advanced or master level in the following subjects: fine art and design, music, film, theatre, dance, museology, architecture and arts education.
The Academy of Theatre and Dance prepares actors for repertory theatre, theatre companies and groups, musical theatre, film and television dramas, and mime and cabaret theatre. Your teachers will be leading theatre makers who bring their experience in the field into the school.
The programme was built from an understanding that dance performers today develop their craft from multiple, interconnected sources and experiences of movement and performing.
