Addie "Micki" Harris collapsed of a heart attack in June 1982 in the lobby of Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, Georgia after two performances with the group. She was sent to the Grady Memorial Hospital, where she died at 12:50 a.m. on June 10, 1982.

The Shirelles were an all-girl group that rocked the early 60s. They were also one of the few girl groups that wrote their own hits. The band consisted of four young girls: Shirley Owens, Beverly Lee, Addie Harris and Doris Coley.
