2 giorni fa · Adolphus FitzClarence was born at Bushy House. He attended a boarding school in Sunbury-on-Thames before being sent to sea at the age of eleven in 1813. He subsequently served as a midshipman aboard Newcastle based in North America and then later in the Mediterranean Sea.
Prince William, Duke of Clarence and St Andrews, who later became King William IV of the United Kingdom, had at least ten children with his mistress Dorothea Jordan, all of whom took the surname FitzClarence. All of them were also granted by their father the rank of a marquess' younger sons or daughters.
