Not for him the moist all-enveloping ecosystems of what Alan Moulder did with My Bloody Valentine and Smashing Pumpkins. Noise as a hammer, not a bludgeon.

17 ore fa · I have no idea how many of his recordings I own - half the time he was credited under a pseudonym, including - as noted above - the name of his cat (Fluss). The S/T Mule album is a personal highlight (esp the track I'm Hell) and also Silverfish / Fat Axl, but it's The Auteurs/After Murder Park that really personifies his engineering craft for me.

1 giorno fa · I livened up the train journey by blasting out The Auteurs ACE After Murder Park album in the AirPods. Sixty one is no age. What a legacy though. The tube journey from Moorgate down to Transpontonia was odd. Each time the carriage pulled out of a station, you could hear water rolling around underneath.
