16 apr 2024 · Air Commodore S S Edwards to be promoted Air Vice-Marshal and to be Assistant Chief of the Air Staff Strategy in the Ministry of Defence with effect from 17 May 2021 in succession to Air Marshal I D Gale MBE whose appointment as Director General Joint Force Development has previously been announced.

6 mag 2024 · TOULOUSE, France – Lt. Gen. Thomas James, U.S. Space Command deputy commander, and Royal Air Force Air Commodore Darren Whiteley, USSPACECOM Strategy, Policy and Plans deputy director, represented the command at the inaugural NATO Space Symposium in Toulouse, France, April 29-30, 2024.
15 apr 2024 · Whittle retired from the RAF in 1948 with the rank of air commodore, and that same year he was knighted. The British government eventually atoned for their earlier neglect by granting him a tax-free gift of £100,000.
18 apr 2024 · Air Commodore Keith Taylor joined the RAF as a university cadet, gaining an Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bath in 1989. On completion of pilot training, Taylor completed an operational tour on the Tornado GR1 with 31 Squadron based at RAF Brüggen, which included supporting Operation JURAL enforcing the no-fly zone over southern Iraq.
6 mag 2024 · MacDonell was made a CB (gazetted 1st January 1964) and retired from the RAF on 15th November 1964 as an Air Commodore. His portrait was drawn by Cuthbert Orde in 1940. He died on 1st June 1999.
