Biografia e attività. Laureato in matematica alla École normale supérieure di Parigi, è attualmente professore al Collège de France (Parigi), all' Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques ( Bures-sur-Yvette) e alla Vanderbilt University ( Nashville ).
Alain Connes is Professor Emeritus at the Collège de France and IHES. Awards include the Fields Medal (1982), the Crafoord Prize (2001) and the CNRS Gold Medal (2004).
Alain Connes (French: [alɛ̃ kɔn]; born 1 April 1947 in Draguignan) is a French mathematician, known for his contributions to the study of operator algebras and noncommutative geometry. He is a professor at the Collège de France, Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques, Ohio State University and Vanderbilt University.

18 apr 2024 · Alain Connes (born April 1, 1947, Draguignan, France) is a French mathematician who won the Fields Medal in 1982 for his work in operator theory. Connes received a bachelor’s degree (1970) and a doctorate (1973) from the École Normale Supérieure (now part of the University of Paris).
