My name is Alex Nowrasteh, and I’m the vice president of economic and social policy studies at the Cato Institute, where I mainly work on immigration policy in the United States. I’m the co-author, with Benjamin Powell, of Wretched Refuse? The Political Economy of Immigration and Institutions (Cambridge University Press, 2021).
