Angelic Encounters. 8 long years had passed since the second album, Realm of Ecstasy, was released from Thanatos and I had eagerly anticipated Angelic Encounters, but was let down by the production and this had nothing to do with the songs, as they are some of the best the band had ever done.
I was impressed by the "Realm of Ecstasy" from Thanatos. In the mid 90-ies that was a scream, as for me. I have never heard this one. When I listened to it the impression was quite different from the "Realm". The second side of the vinyl record is much stronger which makes the record rather good.

THANATOS is probably the oldest Death Metal band from Holland. In the early nineties, they released two good Death Metal albums, “Emerging From The Netherworlds” and “Realms Of Ecstasy” until the many problems with their record-company at that time and two cancelled European tours, as well as internal problems made the band collapse.
