Anna Plochl (* 6. Jänner 1804 als Anna Maria Josepha Plochl in Aussee, heute Bad Aussee [1]; † 4. August 1885 ebenda), Freifrau von Brandhofen (1834), Gräfin von Meran (1850), war ab 1829 die Ehefrau von Erzherzog Johann von Österreich (1782–1859) durch eine morganatisch geschlossene Ehe .
Anna Maria Josephine Plochl (6/9 January 1804 – 4 August 1885) was the morganatic wife of Archduke John of Austria. She was given the title Baroness von Brandhofen and then Countess von Meran. She and her husband were the parents of Franz, Count von Meran.

Die Beziehung zwischen Erzherzog Johann und Anna Plochl (1804–1885), der Tochter des Postmeisters von Aussee im steirischen Salzkammergut, begann 1819. Anna war damals erst 15 Jahre alt, Johann war um 20 Jahre älter. Es entwickelte sich eine Beziehung von erstaunlicher Belastbarkeit, denn die Umstände sprachen gegen das Paar.
Von Robert Engele mit freundlicher Genehmigung der Kleinen Zeitung. Am 18. Februar 1829 führte um 23 Uhr Erzherzog Johann in der Kapelle des Brandhofs seine um 22 Jahre jüngere „Nanni“ Anna Plochl nach zehnjähriger Wartezeit und „nach beynahe unübersteiglichen Schwierigkeiten“ zum Traualtar.

The relationship between Archduke Johann and Anna Plochl (1804–1885), the daughter of the postmaster of the town of Aussee in the Styrian Salzkammergut, began in 1819. Anna was then just fifteen, Johann twenty years her senior. The relationship that developed proved to be astonishingly resilient, given that circumstances were against the couple.
