Anthony Minghella (6 January 1954 – 18 March 2008) was a British movie director, producer and screenwriter [1] of Italian ancestry. He was born in Ryde, Isle of Wight. [1] His brother is screenwriter Dominic Minghella (born 1967). Minghella wrote and directed Truly, Madly, Deeply; he won a BAFTA Award for Best Original Screenplay.
