Filmen hade biopremiär i Sverige den 22 augusti 2008 [ 1] och är en fortsättning på filmen Arn – Tempelriddaren från 2007 .
Arn hoppas också att äntligen få gifta sig med sin Cecilia men väl hemma upptäcker han att det fortfarande finns krafter som vill hålla dem ifrån varandra. Filmen bygger på romaner av Jan Guillou.
