Philippe Auclair (24 June 1959), also known by his moniker Louis Philippe, is a French singer-songwriter, musician, news correspondent and football journalist who has been active from the mid-1980s onwards. He is associated with the short-lived él record label, where he served as an in-house writer and producer.
Philippe Auclair, né le 24 juin 1959 à Yvetot, en Seine-Maritime, est un journaliste, consultant sportif, écrivain et biographe français spécialiste du football exerçant en Angleterre, ainsi qu'un musicien, chanteur et auteur-compositeur sous le pseudonyme Louis Philippe.
He is the England football correspondent for Eurosport.fr, Radio France Internationale and Swiss national radio RTS, and a regular contributor to the Guardian Football Weekly (UK) podcast, for which he specialises in governance issues and the geopolitical dimension of football.
A central figure of the legendary él label, French singer-songwriter, arranger and producer Louis Philippe has been creating a refined world of pop songs influenced by Maurice Ravel as well as the Beach Boys for nearly forty years now. He has also collaborated with Danny Manners, Stuart Moxham, Bertrand Burgalat, Alasdair McLean, Sean O'Hagan, Matilde Santing, Valérie Lemercier and many others.
