So many young people took part in the Rossendale Cross Country competition, the ground was shaking at Marl Pits in Rawtenstall when they all set off. Out of 31 primary schools in Rossendale, 27 sent pupils from Years 5 and 6 to compete in the event organised by Rossendale School Sports Partnership.

For the boys, Harry Hopkins and Francis Vidler, both from Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School, were the lead hares while Alice and Lyla were the back markers.
