Bernardin Frankopan (1453–1529) was a Croatian nobleman and diplomat, a member of the influential Frankopan noble family of Croatia. As one of the wealthiest and most distinguished aristocrats in the kingdom in his day, he had one of the leading roles in mounting defences of Croatian statehood against the Ottoman expansion.
Bernardin Frankopan (lat. Bernardinus de Frangepanibus) (?, 1453.- ?, 1529.), bio je hrvatski velikaš, vojskovođa, diplomat i mecena, pripadnik roda knezova Frankopana. Kao moćan i ugledan aristokrat, bio je nositelj borbe za opstanak hrvatskog naroda na prostorima ugroženima od turske invazije.

The Croatian army, led by Ban Ladislav of Egervár and Knez (Prince) Bernardin Frankopan, defeated the Ottomans who were on their way back from a raid into Carniola, to the Sanjak of Bosnia, carrying booty and Christian captives to be sold into slavery.

At the time of Ottoman incursions, after the Battle of Krbava Field in 1493, Bernardin Frankopan often stayed in Grobnik. It is believed that in the Grobnik Castle in the 16th century there was a scriptorium from which, at the instigation of Bernardin Frankopan, the first Bible in the Croatian language was derived, which has not been preserved.
