Now I’m theorizing that Anderson was trying to distance himself from the post-PULP FICTION indie film craze. For some reason, when I put BIG CITY BLUES in the machine, I was thinking that I’d read 1987 instead of ’97 & for maybe fifteen minutes was thinking how ahead of it’s time this flick was.
