La band si formò nel 1976 nel Queens, a New York. Formata dal cantante/tastierista Peter Zaremba, il chitarrista Keith Streng, il bassista Jan Marek Pakulski e il batterista Bill Milhizer mirava a riportare il rock & roll alla semplicità e alla disinvoltura degli anni '50 e dei primi anni 60.
It was at this time that the band replaced Calderon with drummer Bill Milhizer (born September 21, 1948, Troy, New York), and appeared in the British punk/new wave film Urgh! A Music War, and released its first EP Up-Front. Four albums on I.R.S. followed: Roman Gods (1982), Hexbreaker!!

La formazione comprende adesso Bill Milhizer (batteria) e Keith Streng (chitarra), ma lo show e` sempre di Zaremba, che non puo` esimersi di dedicarsi lo strumentale Blow Job al sesso orale. Hitsburg Revisited (Epitaph, 1999) e` soltanto routine (un solo brano originile, Hitsburg USA , alla American Beat ).
