Bolt Thrower was a British death metal band from Coventry. They formed in 1986 and released their first album with Vinyl Solution in 1988. The band then shifted to a new record label, Earache Records, soon becoming one of the best selling bands on that label. Their last label was Metal Blade Records.

Bolt Thrower were a British death metal band from Coventry, England. They formed in 1986 as "Bolthrower" and changed to the commonly known spelling after their first official practise rehearsal demo in December. In September 14th 2016, a year after the death of Martin "Kiddie" Kearns, the band disbanded.

Come detto, già dal successivo The IV Crusade lo stile qua impostato conoscerà una ulteriore evoluzione, verso lidi di strutturazioni più semplici ed esaltazione della componente epica.
