Brian Francis Connolly (5 October 1945 – 9 February 1997) was a Scottish singer-songwriter, musician and actor, best known as the lead singer of glam rock band the Sweet between 1968 and 1979 and known for his charismatic stage presence and distinctive voice.
Ormai dimenticato dai metal fan degli anni novanta, Brian Connolly muore il 9 febbraio del 1997 a causa di ripetuti infarti, conseguenza del suo pessimo stato fisico, minato in maniera esagerata dall'alcool; qualche anno più tardi, il 14 febbraio 2002 ad andarsene è il batterista Mick Tucker, stroncato dalla leucemia.
Sweet (known as The Sweet until the early 1970s [1]) are a British glam rock band who rose to prominence in the 1970s. Their best-known line-up consisted of lead vocalist Brian Connolly, bassist Steve Priest, guitarist Andy Scott and drummer Mick Tucker.

23 dic 2018 · In memory of Brian Connolly. Brian Connolly was born in Hamilton, Scotland on the 5th October 1945. He was adopted at the age of two and went by the name Brian McManus until he was 18, when he discovered that he was adopted and changed his surname to his mother´s, Connolly.
