4 giorni fa · The NYMR have announced that the iconic No. 46100 Royal Scot will now be the guest locomotive during February half-term for a series of special pre-booked services. Named Royal Scot after the Royal Scots regiment, the original 6100 was the first of its class, built in 1927 by the North British Locomotive Company in Glasgow. .
4 giorni fa · The Royal Yacht Britannia was built by the Clyde shipbuilders Messrs John Brown & Co at a cost of £2,098,000 to replace her 50-year-old predecessor, Victoria and Albert III. The vessel was named and launched by The Queen on 16 April 1953 and was commissioned on 11 January 1954. The name was The Queen’s personal choice.
