Carlos Frederico Werneck de Lacerda (30 April 1914 – 21 May 1977) was a Brazilian journalist and politician . Biography. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Lacerda was the son of a family of politicians from Vassouras, Rio de Janeiro state.

Carlos Frederico Werneck de Lacerda GCC (Rio de Janeiro, [a] 30 de abril de 1914 – Rio de Janeiro, 21 de maio de 1977) foi um jornalista e político brasileiro. Foi membro da União Democrática Nacional (UDN), vereador (1947), deputado federal (1955–60) e governador do estado da Guanabara (1960–65).

Carlos Lacerda (1914-1977) Not quite a friend, but I felt I knew him well from my study of twentieth century Brazilian history. He was the product of a distinguished Fluminense family. His father, Mauricio, was a Socialist deputado earlier in the twentieth century. His son’s politics were far different. He was an arch reactionary.
