La nostra Contessa di Saronno Cecilia Gallerani, spirò nel 1536 all'età di 63 anni a San Giovanni in Croce, ove si ritiene sia sepolta nella chiesa di S. Zavedro (Foto A) ma, purtroppo, la chiesa durante la seconda guerra mondiale è stata pesantemente danneggiata ed è tuttora disastrata, ragion per cui risulta difficile, se non impossibile, ritrovare le sue spoglie.

Dal 2002 è intitolato a Cecilia Gallerani, la donna immortalata da Leonardo da Vinci nel ritratto della Dama con l'ermellino (opera oggi custodita nel Museo Czartoryski di Cracovia, in Polonia ).
