Chabua (IPA: /tʃəˈbʊə/ or /tʃəˈbwɑː/) is a town and a town area committee in Dibrugarh district in the state of Assam, India. Chabua is situated in between Dibrugarh town and Tinsukia town on NH-37 30 and 20 km (19 and 12 mi) from both the district towns, respectively.
Chabua Air Force Station ( ICAO: VECA) is an Indian Air Force base located at Chabua of Dibrugarh district in the state of Assam, India . History. US Air Force. This Base was built in 1939. During World War II it was a major supply point for the ferrying of supplies to Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek 's forces in and around Kunming, China.

During spring 1943, nearly a third of the AAF pilots force-fed to the China-Burma-India Theater were only single-engine rated. Even experienced crews got into trouble over the Hump.
