Charles Hardinge, 1st Baron Hardinge of Penshurst, KG, GCB, GCSI, GCMG, GCIE, GCVO, ISO, PC (20 June 1858 – 2 August 1944) was a British diplomat and statesman who served as Viceroy and Governor-General of India from 1910 to 1916.

Diplomatico inglese (Londra 1858 - Penshurst, Kent, 1944), ambasciatore in Russia (1904-06), sottosegretario agli Esteri (1906-10), poi inviato in India quale viceré (1910-16); richiamato a Londra, fu sottosegretario permanente al Foreign Office (1916-20) e delegato alla conferenza della pace; infine ambasciatore a Parigi (1920-23).
Il titolo di Barone Hardinge di Penshurst venne creato nel 1910 per il diplomatico Sir Charles Hardinge, Viceré e Governatore generale dell'India dal 1910 al 1916. Egli era il figlio secondogenito di Charles Hardinge, II visconte Hardinge .

Baron Hardinge of Penshurst, in the County of Kent, is a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created in 1910 for the diplomat the Hon. Sir Charles Hardinge, Viceroy and Governor-General of India from 1910 to 1916. He was the second son of Charles Hardinge, 2nd Viscount Hardinge.
