Checkered Past is an EP by ska punk band Save Ferris that was released on February 10, 2017, on Withyn Records. The EP marks the band's first release in 18 years since 1999's Modified and their first since lead singer and founding member Monique Powell reformed the band with a brand new lineup after years of legal battles with the former members of the band. 6 feb 2017 · If you’ve ever listened to Save Ferris’s second album (and few have), you’ll find them putting down the horns a little more often to try to put together some more radio friendly pop-punk hits, but they still failed to produce one. Now it’s 2017, and Save Ferris is finally back with their first release in 18 years. (Sort of.)

The EP featured an appearance by Neville Staple of The Specials, one of Powell’s favorite artists. Following Checkered Past’s release, Save Ferris played the entire 2017 Warped Tour on the main stage, headlined shows, and played festivals across the world. The future is as bright as it has been for Save Ferris in a long time.
